And that is why I have not been around. I am lucky to have a connection right now at all. I am on the laptop and I hate this thing, so don't expect too much from me, K? The desktop has no connection at all.
I am going to go take a nap. I am extremely tired. It's withdrawals I tell ya!!

Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day!
Mine sucked and we will leave it at that. The shit was so crazy that half of you wouldn't believe me!!!
Bill, my mom's husband, (sorry, I have never called him my step dad, that place is reserved, with contempt, for Saint John,) arrived here yesterday. Wow! that sentence could be nominated for the sentence with the most commas! He drove here from Montana in this itty bitty 2 seater car. It's cute. Ma was so excited when he finally arrived in our town. Before that she was an anxious pain in the butt, lol!
They are going with the realtor today to look at more houses and I think, to revisit some we already looked at. I don't think I am invited though!
Brandy's first birthday is tomorrow! How great is that? Dad, is going to miss it though because he is in Montana. Poor daddy!
Fred Q suggested at his blog to come up with a theme. He says no one wants to here about our cats. Hmmm... but I just got a new cat. Her name is Molly and she is 5 1/2 weeks old. Black and white spots, and adorable!!!
Should I give my blog a theme?
Should I leave it the way it is?
Leave a your opinions in the comment section!

My life, in a conversation
"Don't you have homework to do?" I asked.
"Don't you have a house to clean?"
Damn! She's good.

A Busy Week
The garden is planted. Cucumbers, dill, garlic, potatoes, tomatoes, jalapeƱo peppers, onions, leaf lettuce, melons, pumpkins, yellow sweet corn, red sweet corn, sugar snap peas, spaghetti squash and buttercup squash. The last one I had to get by special request from Montana via Alice. They don't sell buttercup squash here. Four strawberry plants are planted up by the house next to some flowers I put in. A huge tire in sitting close by the porch and my little flower garden, waiting for play sand to fill it. An 18 inch deep wading pool is taking up half of my back porch. Austin mowed the lawn today using the riding mower and C put concrete in around the septic system sprinklers. I followed them home from the mils today, C on the big blue tractor and Austin on the riding mower, about a mile on the main road. Our ditches are level now and he used the tractor to get the massive tire off the trailer. Seriously, this thing is huge.
My herbal and flower garden has not gone in yet. I haven't figured out where I want it yet, and I am not too sure right now where my herb seeds are. Oops. I really want to get my lavender planted. I have been neglecting my spiritual studies, too. I really need to start reading and doing my exercises, but I keep putting it off. I guess it is the same with every belief system, isn't it?

I like being in the dark
I am the most politically uninformed person on the planet, and I am proud of it! I am not being saturated with what I can and cannot say; a bit only trickles in here and there. Imus who? Ha! I wouldn't know who Obama was if it weren't for Candace over at Chapterhouse for Christ's sake!
At least when I used People PC, I got daily sound bites... snippets of current events, but even that is gone now. Pop culture to me is what I see on the covers of gossip magazines in line at the checkout counter. Do I really give a shit if Br@d and Angelin@ are having issues? Or if T0m and whats her face are in some kind of crazy marriage? No fucking way. I am not bombarded with anything, and it has to do with self control.
If you don't like what you are seeing or hearing on TV or the radio, change the fucking channel. Shut your goddamn browser. Take control of your life, and just walk away.
Don't feed the trolls.
**Update**
I am mostly talking about political incorrect stuff, but everyone comments on the gossip part... part those who go on rampages over what someone said, are gossiping. If we stop listening to these people, then it doesn't matter what they say, because we took away their audience.

Fine, I will put up a new post already
Sheesh! Any more creepy obnoxious comments in the middle of the night, though, and I might have to call the popo out here.
"Um, hello? Can you send an officer out to blank lane?" I imagine myself whimpering into the phone. Then the dispatcher asks me why, and I say, "I think I am being stalked and harassed. Someone left a creepy message on my blog."
Click.
~~~~~~~~~
So, I thought my upper left wisdom tooth was coming in because it is sore when I touch my gum. Yeah, I know. Stupid. The dentist said he didn't see anything on my xray and it didn't look like it was poking through. So I let it slide, and he "drilled, filled and billed" two of my molars. Ouch! He hurt my cheek and my gums! I swear this time, I am going to call and make my next appointment with his partner, the gentle older man.
So anyway, I figure that my gum is swollen so maybe I have an abscess or something? Then last night I was farting around and I slipped my fingernail up under my gum behind that last tooth. Yuck! Salty liquid gushed out and it was all sunken in and shrivelly- for a minute. Then it filled back up again. So I brushed and flossed and rinsed thoroughly, and waited until I felt pressure, ran to the sink, and whoosh- salty taste, rinse, repeat! How gross is that? It pretty much feels normal now. I don't think it was pus, because that is bitter tasting. In junior high my lower wisdoms were pulled and I had and infection that leaked pus. This wasn't like that at all. This just tasted like salt water... or snot.
I am not going into how I know what snot tastes like. We are just not going there, ok?
I downloaded this free 3D program called DAZ tonight, and I swore I was going to open it up right away and read the tutorials and actually use it this time. Instead I got sidetracked looking for doll bases that I thought looked like Rachel and Ivy from Kim Harrison's witch series. Yes, I am that lame. I found them, too! Rachel is a redheaded witch, from Irish descent, and Ivy is a living vampire, with black hair, and exotic almost Asian features. Rachel and Ivy are best friends, roommates and business partners. I am obsessed right now ok? I am rereading all the books and am surprised at how much I missed in the beginning. Like, duh, Kim set that up!
If you didn't think I was lame yet for what I just wrote, you will when I finish. I joined the author's yahoo group. At least I have the email set to digest! I only log in if one of the entries catches my eye, or if I am bored. Kim posts comments herself and even responds to our questions, and it is fun and refreshing, so there. I never joined a fan club as a kid you know. I was to embarrassed because I didn't know what I was supposed to send to them to join, because they never said! Yup, loser then and loser now.
These two characters have another partner. A four inch pixy with dragon fly wings named Jenks. He is married and has 54 kids and lives in their garden, which is between the church they live in and the graveyard. They are "runners"- kind of like PI's slash cops and they catch bad guys, mess around with demons and magic, and try not to push each others buttons so that Ivy doesn't vamp out and attack Rachel.
The series is great, so there, and this is my blog, so I will talk about it. It is past one in the morning and I am tired, wore out, and edgy. I could really use some Starbucks right now. It just sounds really very good.
*sigh*
I can't wait to get started on my dolls!
Band
Austin had band tryouts on Tuesday at the Middle School. He tried the trumpet, percussion, saxophone and trombone. The teacher who was testing the percussion doesn't teach it anymore, but he remembers Austin from the Music Screening they did at the elementary school and he wants to teach Austin himself, because he thinks he would make a good musician! How cool is that? He said that Austin looked like he would be good at the Trombone or Trumpet and that we should try those too. His score for percussion was ok, but he got "good" for the rest! He has a "good buzz"!
So now we wait and see where they put him next year. The kids get a whole class time for instruction in their instrument. Austin prefers the trumpet, but I am sure he will be happy with whatever he gets. And to tell you the truth, his first day trying out the trumpet he sounded better than my brother ever did! HA!
Easter Eggs Made With Natural Egg Dyes
I used water, vinegar and cabbage leaves for the icky light purple and water, vinegar and yellow onion skins for the dark red brown eggs. They were put in raw and boiled with the dye. I got the "recipes" from Lady Tawodi.
The flash is too bright here, I think:
After I added some oil to shine them up.
I finished my Kim Harrison book, for a few demons more this morning! Her books are very addictive. I am finally done with all the ones I have, so I can start sleeping again at night! I have a tendency to stay up all hours reading. The world she created is totally fascinating, and it is still running through my head. I shouldn't read so fast. I should read a chapter at a time and let it sink in, but I don't and I can't. I am thinking of starting the series over.
I put a few flowers out in pots on my back porch and cleaned it up a bit. I want it to look cozy and it is starting to finally. God I have nothing to say.
We dyed easter eggs and got our easter shopping done the other night. We go all out for the traditional Easter Bunny Easter Festivities. I am even thinking about getting the kids pics taken at walmart for Easter.
When I was a kid, my parents always hid our Easter Baskets on us. But then I met Chantz and they ridiculed me to death about that. The baskets are never hidden in our home, only the eggs. One year me and Chantz woke up to find a few dozen eggs hidden all over our yard! I have believed in the Easter Bunny ever since then. Easter makes me very hungry for ham! yummy!
So what do you guys do for Easter?
Beanie wants...
Beanie wants me to do a meme that she made up.I am supposed to come up with 10 things that no one talks about anymore that I think people should talk about and then tag 5 people. Lets see?
1. pro life or pro choice? I don't here this come up so much anymore
2. why babies like to play in toilets- they do it all the time, but no one ever talks about it. you never here mommies saying, "Well my daughter dropped her pacifier in the toilet and them sucked on it," and the other mommy saying, "My son threw my cell phone in the toilet, beat that!"
3. Why dogs like to eat shit. Ain't that just gross? They will eat it anywhere, anytime, anyone's!!!
4. God Bret Michaels was got back in the day! Why doesn't anyone talk about Poison?
5. banana seat bikes- where did they all go?
6. The old Dr Who TV series- does anyone remember what it was about?
7. Those weird guys on Laverne and Shirley- I swear I here their voices on cartoons sometimes.
8. Why isn't the "but its my birthday, mommy!" joke funny anymore?
9. Politically incorrect topics- lets talk about them. Like, why do we still financially support native americans? People got conquered for centuries. Get over it, right? Right?? :P
10. The origins of "MEME"- What the fuck does meme mean? And how the fuck do I pronounce it???? Where does it come from?
Um, I tag Candy and Marlee and thats enough. Sorry beanie!
So, I have been thinking about going back to college. De Vry has an online degree program and I want to go to school from home. I have this thing though about responsibility. I am afraid to get training for a job, because I think what if I can't do it? I like web development, but I am also drawn to another one. I need to think about this. C asked me why I want to go to school and I lied to him. I want to go back so I don't have to be dependent on him. that way, of he ever decides to leave me, I can support myself and our kids. I told its because the kids will be in school in a few years and I am not going to stay home then. I said I want to contribute to the family. But mostly, I want to feel needed and valuable and I want to be protected in case something ever happens to him ... or he gets sick of me and kicks my wild lazy ass out, ha ha ha!
Beanie also wants to know the story behind the firemen. Isn't she nosy? Ok, I went to the pet store to get a bigger bird cage for my finches and I brought Brandy with me. I used the button on the key to unlock both sides of the car and I set the keys on the seat, thinking I shouldn't but I hate digging them out of my pocket or purse again, because I can't hold them and put Brandy in her seat. It was raining out, and I had the back windows shut, and I loaded baby and stuff up, and shut the door. I don't normally shut the side door until I go around and open my door, just in case this happens, but it was raining, remember? I shut it, and it was locked. There is no way to lock the entire van from the side door, and I had put the keys on the front seat. It beeps when it locks from the keys and I did not hear a beep! I think it locked itself. I went back in to Pet Smart and a kids came out who had a thingy to unlock it in his truck. Well, it didn't work. This nice family came and she offered to call the police for me after not finding a hanger in a clothing store in the strip mall. A police officer came out followed by a fire truck (sirens and everything- because it had to navigate I45!) and the cop comes up and asks me what happened.
"I put the baby in the van and set the keys down and shut the door! She is locked in!"
He chuckled. A good natured cop. I was afraid I would get a ticket or something. I wasn't scared because I knew it would be ok, deep down, but afterward a fireman said she could have run out of air, or gotten to hot even in that mild weather! I was jittery on the way home.
The nice lady's kids entertained brandy through the window and she was happy. I thought to take a picture of the truck just after they wedged my door open and stuck this thingy in there to unlock the doors. Then I saw that they had gone into my van and got her out! Um, yeah, I should have done that but I was a bit detached and overwhelmed by the whole thing. We were drawing a crowd and I thought no one would ever believe me, so I took a few more pics on the digital camera. A fireman gave her a stuffed dalmatian and we went home.
Then end.
Oh, and it is Palm Sunday, April fools day, and there's a full moon out tonight! What a fucking combination.
1. pro life or pro choice? I don't here this come up so much anymore
Well...
Does this mean no more staying up late reading my vampire books?
"Dear Dawn,
Here is your AstroSlam for Friday, March 30:
You're really beginning to feel the exhaustion that comes from hanging out with vampires। If you can't see your friends in the mirror, then you shouldn't be nightclubbing with them. Travel with a silver stake! "
What did we do on our vaca?
We went to Piney Shores Resort in Conroe- a time share thingy bobber- and the kids swam, and I swam, but the indoor pool was closed for repairs, so this was in the outside pool. It was coolish. but not too bad. The weather here is beautiful! I took them swimming again today after school, and I got to read!!! C stayed home because he got home from work late that day.
I learned that Tessa can manage to hog a king size bed and that she likes to snuggle. I learned that Bruce and Brandy don't like sleeping places other than home, and that even in a beautiful lodge, with a kitchen, living room, 2 bedrooms, 2 full baths, one a Jacuzzi, and 3 TVS, that I still end up sleeping either on the floor or on the couch with babies! I learned that kids who don't want to go to school will take care of a baby for 3 hours and let Mom sleep in... and that little girls are not above resorting to tears and denial when confronted.
I sorta stayed up almost all night and not totally because of the littlest babies. They did keep me up late, but after they passed out, that Midol kicked in and I read my witch/vampire novel until almost morning. (Dead witches tell no tales) Then I took a 5 hour nap. It was wonderful!!!!
And I admit that it was fun bringing them to school, and laying on the guilt just a bit, when I knew it was my fault entirely. A mom has to have some fun once in a while, no?
"The Truth About Writing"
On his blog, Fred Charles wrote, "I’ve decided to chronicle the creation of my next novel." How awesome is that? I am obsessed with learning the process of anything, so you can see I am intrigued. I love to read almost more than I love breathing.
On a previous post, he has already teased his readers with samples of his opening paragraph. He posts each rewrite, and every new attempt gets better and more appealing. I want more, more, more! It is interesting to see how he conveys the same ideas in the last rewrite, using a much more interesting technique he refers to as, "show, don't tell." I had trouble with this concept in my attempts at writing shorts stories. I admit I did not get very far at all. My poetry writing stopped for much the same reason. My ideas and my words did not coincide. Perhaps Fred and the knowledge he is imparting will help this SAHM to overcome her own writing disabilities?
Why don't you go take a look at his revamped blog? I would like to know what you have to say!
Dental Disease Can Be Prevented and Cured!
"Once the enamel is pierced—by anything, but usually by a cavity—there is an "open sesame" for germs to get into a part of the body that has no defense against infection.... You could get syphilis through a cavity faster than through ordinary sex. And that's a fact!"
"Are you ready for this: Disease-free teeth which have been damaged by former disease can heal themselves... Oral health, logically and reasonably, has many parallels with physical health. Broken bones knit; damaged hearts heal, torn muscles or cut skin mends...the body's ability to heal is the norm, not the exception. Why should the mouth be different?—It isn't."
Where am I going with this stuff? I am reading some e-books by Dr. Nara written in the 70s and 80s about how dentists repair symptoms and not disease. They are not ALLOWED to try to treat disease, and medical doctors are not allowed near the mouth- so whose job is it? It is up to us to take our oral health into our own hands. I am going to start with my own toothpaste- more of a tooth powder. OTC toothpastes have carcinogens in them, and don't really do anything beneficial to our teeth and GUMS. I am going to dip my soft toothbrush into hydrogen peroxide and then into baking soda mixed with peppermint, myrrh and tea tree essential oils. These oils will help kill the bacteria in the mouth that causes dental disease. I also bought an irrigator to clean under the gums and in the deep spaces between my teeth. Ever hear of a waterpik? That is an irrigator. Flossing is important too. The way that we brush and floss is also more important than what we floss with.
Nutrition is vital to healthy oral care, esp calcium and vitamin d. 15 minutes of sun per day, without sunscreen, vitamin supplements, and lots of research is going to help me out here. I am not going to have my cavities filled- at least not right away. I am going to call the office and have them schedule me for a teeth cleaning that day instead. Once the mouth is cleaned, I can continue to rid my mouth of bacteria. The cavities are supposed to be able to heal themselves and I did not know that! If this works, it will save me over $3000 in dental work.
I have a list from my dental exam and it will cost me three grand to have my teeth "fixed"! I am supposed to pay them out the ass to torture me? I don't think so!
"Money by the Mouthful"
By ROBERT O. NARA, D.D.S.
And I am feeling better after a return visit to the dentist. I had dry socket. Now I don't!
"We are told, or assume, that cavities are caused by sugar. That's a lie. Cavities are caused by disease, and the disease is caused by germs. You can avoid sugar all you wish but you will not escape dental disease because of your abstinence."More to come about this later...
"It is, today, a violation of dental professional ethics—and of most state laws—to advertise to the public that a dentist is interested in preventing disease and its problems. Dentists can advertise various specialties (when recognized by the association), but these all deal with repair of damages. The association that makes and enforces the rules has adamantly refused to sanction preventive (medical) dentistry as a specialty, even though medical doctors have long considered prevention one of the more ideal forms of health care and treatment."
And I am feeling better after a return visit to the dentist. I had dry socket. Now I don't!
I think that you ought to know...
...that I am in excruciating pain. I made a deal with the devil dentist, to have the rear molar removed, rather than canaled and crowned. I got credit for what I already paid for, and had an exam done. I will instead have the rest of my teeth repaired, so I never have to go through this agony again.
But I am in PAIN! I was not given anything for the pain after the extraction, and I am hopped up on OTC pain killers and I am in AGONY! I have a headache, and I think the pain in my lower jaw is aggravating the nerves in my upper teeth. I feel extreme soreness as well as toothache pain, and I have a splitting headache. The baby is teething and screaming and Chantz is in Glendive.
The icing is that I figured out that my antidepressants DO NOT work and that I have been depressed for at least 3 weeks.
I need to be saved from myself.
Austin's Essay
We helped Austin write this essay for the LEAP class we had to take.
My goal is to be a computer programmer and video game designer. To accomplish my goal, I need to do many things. One thing I need to do is become a great video game player! I need to play a variety of video games from all the different game types, like strategy, sports, building, shooter, and role playing games. I will also need to keep a game journal that describes what games I have played and what I like about them, what type of buildings and characters there are. I would also keep track of the things I don't like about the games' graphics, story, and the characters development.
I need to do good in school. I need to do my school work in class when my teacher tells me to. I need to work independently. Without arguing or whining about my work. I need to get good grades in math, reading, writing and history, so I can go to a good college for at least four years, so I can get a really good degree in computer programming and game design. To get good grades in reading I need to practice reading at home and maybe get a tutor. To get good grades in writing I need to pay attention in class and take extra writing classes, and writing in a journal at home about my games I am playing. I need to catch up in my math classes so I can learn harder math. I will pay attention in history class, and I will continue to watch the History, Learning and Discovery channels. My favorite show on the History channel is Modern Marvels, because it has history and science making it more interesting.
I need to be good in school and I need to listen to my teacher to improve my listening skills. One way I can do that is by following directions and saying yes sir or yes ma'am. I need to read instructions to video game tutorials to learn how to play games. In school I need to learn vocal skills so I can be a good talker. I also need to learn another language like Spanish to go to college. I need to become a great dirt bike rider because it is a sport and I need to learn a sport to become a game designer. I want to take guitar lessons for my musical instrument I need to learn.
I want to build model cities and military complexes for the games I make. I can make movies about them too. I will practice making maps like I do in my video games I play. My dad can help me build the models and my dad can help me create games. Everything that I draw, build or create I need to keep pictures of in my portfolio. A portfolio is a book of all the stuff I draw or make, like cities. I will use this book to help me get a job when I am done with school so I can make lots of money.
"Welcome to Cancerland"
I just found this article about breast cancer over at Twistys Blog. It is not your usual sappy article and I suggest that you all read it in it's entirety. The gist- that breast cancer is being infantized, and that we are ignoring the bigger issue- environmental causes of breast cancer- the leading cause of breast cancer. Didn't know that did you? Because it is shoved under the carpet. This is an interesting topic. If anyone else is interested in researching possible carcinogens and environmental causes of breast cancer, let me know! Let's see what we can do to protect ourselves. I want to know what foods (pesticides) and products to avoid. I want to find out which chemicals could be the cause so I can boycott them. Cancer isn't something people should accept. It is something that should be avoided.
My mother in law has a theory that lung cancer is also caused by environmental pollutions. She thinks cigarettes are taking the blame for something that is a being ignored- pollution. She is insistent that cancer caused by secondhand smoke could be from the environment instead. She goes one step further to think it is a conspiracy, a cover up. At first I thought she was a little nutty, but I didn't argue with her because, hell, she could be right. After reading this article, I am more apt to believe my mother in law. She just might be on to something. She does believe that cigarettes can cause cancer. She and I just both believe that the damage done to the environment is being ignored and is also to blame!
By the way, you should also read what Twisty has to say over there at I blame the Patriarchy.
Here is an excerpt of the article:
Blue October
I just bought the CD, Foiled by Blue October and I love it!!!! I love X amount of words , Congratulations and Pulled a wire through my cheek, as well as Hate Me and Into the Ocean. These guys are amazing!
Isn't that amazing? Justin Furstenfeld is an amazing writer!!! Here are some more examples:
If you are familiar with Hate me, then you know that Justin Furstenfeld is an ex addict/alcoholic. Like me he has suffered from depression. That song is about his mother, and the cd version has a tape recording of his mom leaving a message on his machine. How very sad. I hear that song and I think, "That is what a mom is supposed to be!!! I would do that for my children, too!"
"In my sick way I want to thank you
For holding my head up late at night
While I was busy waging wars on myself
You were trying to stop the fight
You never doubted my warped opinions
On things like suicide or hate
You made me compliment myself
When it was way too hard to take
So I'll drive so fucking far away
That I never cross your mind
And do whatever it takes in your heart
To leave me behind
Hate me today
Hate me tomorrow
Hate me for all the things I didn't do for you
Hate me in ways
Yeah, ways hard to swallow
Hate me so you can finally see what's good for you"
-Hate Me
One last word from me, these guys are originally from Houston. Cool!
"A plate of quite peculiar on a dish of my own
A tablespoon of feather, tickle me to the bone
Give me recipes for happy with the chemicals gone
Drinking freedom from a bottle to the tune of belong"
-X Amount of Words
Isn't that amazing? Justin Furstenfeld is an amazing writer!!! Here are some more examples:
"Ever carried the weight of another?
For how long?
I walk as far as they need to recover
For how long?"
-Overweight
"So rest assured I have the key to every opening
To every wishing well that's deep enough to dream
I wanna show you just how fascinating kissing is
When earth collides with all the space between, yeah"
-Sound Of Pulling Heaven Down
"Well, alive, anyway!"
I'm still here, barely. I had a partial root canal on Monday and have it finished in two weeks. This sucks. You have no idea how pricey this procedure is. But the pain!!! My god, the pain was terrible. I mean the toothache, not the procedure. Root canals don't hurt. Then this morning I forgot to cancel the appt I made at some other dentist who couldn't get me in right away.
It's spring break. I guess the Dentists here don't work on spring break.
Yup, the kids are home this week!!! All week. And our plans are to sit around playing games on the PCs. Except for the Sims. It isn't working, which really makes me mad because I built a kick ass house and it wouldn't let me save it!!! I did get a screen shot of it though!
My in laws got another horse. The poor thing looked like they were starving it. I don't know what it is about people here in Texas, but the livestock look terribly thin and malnourished. It makes me sick. Their neighbors only feed their horses a small amount of hay and feed a day, carefully measured and weighed! Hell, I feed Dolly and Mayday close to a bail a day!!! He is a beautiful 3 year old brownish red Thoroughbred (Dolly is a quarter horse). She happened to be in heat the day Mayday showed up. Wow, that was almost horse porn. He is a young one though and didn't know what he was doing, so whether or not anything came of it we aren't sure. Dolly sure is a bitch though. She is mean and domineering. Feeding them is a pain because she hordes the food and knocks him out of the way. I have my own tricks though!!! No pictures as of yet. Maybe I will remember my camera tomorrow.
Here is one of Tessa, Hailey and Bruce taken in our cabin at the resort.
And a chocolate covered baby!
Sometimes it's not a mom thing...
...and sometimes it is. But how to tell when it is a wife thing??
Ever eat fishsticks that taste like ass?
Ever been so sick that you vomited at the same time it came out the other end?
How do you deal with people who drive you freaking crazy? When they are family members and cannot be disposed of in garbage sacks, I mean. :p
That's about all. I'm pooped (he he).
Answer the questions in the comments for me ok? This IS NOT a meme. I just like lists.
Everything in Between and Then Some
I am waiting for one picture to load, so I might as well type something for you. The new computer is here, sitting on my new desk. The new couch and bookcases look lovely in my living room and I finally like this house. Tessa and Austin both got new beds. Austins is a loft bed with a desk under it, metal style. Tessa's is a white daybed with a trundle. The bottom bed also has three large drawers in it. She has a room fit for a princess.
Austin got new clothes from my grandmother when she visited last week. He is finally "cool" and is being left alone by his nemesis. At court he was assigned to go to 2 LEAP classes with me. We have to write 2 essays for the 19 about Austin's goals and how he will achieve them and how I will help him do that. Ironically, the first ticket hi got was for refusing to do a writing assignment about his life's goals. He says he doesn't have any. Doh! What do you want to be when you grow up is a goal! He is ambitious. he wants to program computer games and he wants to go to college in Japan to learn it. Um, that is a big major goal that he would need to start working on now in order to accomplish. This is going to be fun.
On the 28th, Brandy's bottom two teeth came in! How sweet is that? She has been sitting up for a while now, but just yesterday she sat up by herself with out first climbing up on something. She pulls herself up onto Bruce's chairs and tries to get in them. She tried to climb onto his bed and it was just adorable!
Bruce had a rough night; he was vomiting all night and wouldn't drink anything. Then he had some nasty diapers. Poor guy is sleeping again. This morning when he woke up, bright and cheerful, he said uh oh! and took daddy to the bathroom to show he remembered. He is also a fine mimic and repeats many things he hears. He likes to say chicken soup, because he heard Austin singing the chicken noodle soup song.
Grandma and Grandpa Rothstein were here on the 3rd and 4th to visit. They flew in from Florida and are traveling to California by car. They are taking a 5 week road trip to see the sights! It sounds very exciting. We went out to eat at the cheesecake factory and the kids were so well behaved! My grandfather was impressed with how smart Austin is. Like us, he believes that Austin isn't being challenged enough at school. This is partly because he is reading challenged and it makes it very hard to see where he is at.
My friend Rebecca "Bekke" from high school found me this last week and I am so excited. We were inseparable back in the day. She is very smart and got excellent grades in high school. Not me, though. I could have cared less. She went to school and I had the babies and got married and we lost touch. She lives in Florida now and has family in Austin, TX! How cool is that? She has a baby now, too, named Sarah and she is 18 months old. Since I have stinky dial up I haven't yet managed to view her photos yet. But I will!
Speaking of images, mine still has not been uploaded yet. Durn it all anyway. I guess it will have to wait until next time.
Ciao!
Two major things you should know
First of all, Austin didn't get a ticket for hiding under the desk, but for disrupting class, since the teacher had to completely stop teaching to deal with Austin. The assistant principal was called and then the police, because Austin refused to do his classwork.
AN ADULT TOLD HIM WHAT TO DO AND HE REFUSED.
He was disobedient and disrespectful; he has know respect for AUTHORITY. The cops ordered him out and to do his work, and he still refused, and they wrote him up. He was sent to in school suspension, where he sat thinking about what happened for 20 to 30 minutes, which is normal for him; he processes things slowly. I was called and told to come pick him up before she called the police again because he hadn't completed that assignment.
She fucked up in many ways. First of all, there was a substitute teacher and this was in the resource room, not the regular classroom. She demanded he do that assignment, continuously rather than move on to something different. She should have just let him sit there, because that is what his homeroom teacher does and it is effective. He will get on it of you LEAVE HIM ALONE. She should have called us first. She made a threat and felt she had to follow thru with it and it was Austins fault. Do not make threats you don't want to follow through on.
I just wanted to make it clear, that it is about perceived authority, and that the assistant principal and the cops took Austins actions personally and made it about themselves. That was never the case. It is and always will be about Austin!!!!!
The second major thing you should know, is that my new computer is broken. Yup- they are sending me a new one. It is possible, although we are not sure, that it is due to downloading an incompatible version of people pc, and that it caused the pc to permanently fail. however, the tech wasn't sure, and since nothing worked to get it back again, he figures there is something wrong with the computer itself. It has windows Vista, and I am giving you a piece of advice. Before downloading any programs, make sure that they are compatible first!
It is also a strong possibility that I lost everything I have recently made in paint shop pro and any art I have purchased and downloaded. That is because when we installed vista onto the old computer, all my folders are still there but the content is gone. C says it has to be there and he will try to find it. It was all transferred onto the new pc, but that one croaked. Light a candle for it, please! May it rest in eternal disquiet for screwing me. :p
This time I will not cry!!! Candace, this loss includes your new template. If I can't get it back, I promise I will make it again! It maybe slightly different, but it will be done!!!
She made a threat and felt she had to follow thru with it and it was Austins fault. Do not make threats you don't want to follow through on.
I just wanted to make it clear, that it is about perceived authority, and that the assistant principal and the cops took Austins actions personally and made it about themselves. That was never the case. It is and always will be about Austin!!!!!
The second major thing you should know, is that my new computer is broken. Yup- they are sending me a new one. It is possible, although we are not sure, that it is due to downloading an incompatible version of people pc, and that it caused the pc to permanently fail. however, the tech wasn't sure, and since nothing worked to get it back again, he figures there is something wrong with the computer itself. It has windows Vista, and I am giving you a piece of advice. Before downloading any programs, make sure that they are compatible first!
It is also a strong possibility that I lost everything I have recently made in paint shop pro and any art I have purchased and downloaded. That is because when we installed vista onto the old computer, all my folders are still there but the content is gone. C says it has to be there and he will try to find it. It was all transferred onto the new pc, but that one croaked. Light a candle for it, please! May it rest in eternal disquiet for screwing me. :p
This time I will not cry!!! Candace, this loss includes your new template. If I can't get it back, I promise I will make it again! It maybe slightly different, but it will be done!!!
It's a Dell
And it's mine, all mine. The screen is to die for, it's flat, and wide, and huge and it's mine, all mine!!! He he he!!! It is missing a brand new desk to sit upon, which it will have tomorrow, as well as a new throne for my ass; then I will take plenty of pretty pictures and will post them here. So for now, use your imaginations, or go look up the XPS at Dell. I am currently blogging on the old PC until I get all my files transferred. Windows Vista is very very different than XP!
Oh, and C's laptop came today, too. It's red and black, and has LED lights everywhere that glow ANY COLOR HE WANTS all over the darn thing. It's and XPS also, and 19 inches.
What did you get for Valentine's Day, hmmm?
What Did He Do?
Austin's court hearing went very well. We waited our turn, which comes quickly since they push families with bawling babies to the top of the pile. (Thank you, Brandy!) The judge didn't remember Austin, thankfully, but the officer did and he isn't overly fond of my kid. I went armed with letters from 2 of his teachers and his report card to show how he has improved since the last incident.
We left the 5th grade Valentine's day party early, made it to court before three in spite of a train, and survived the trip through the brand spanking new metal detector that the cops kept playing with (my god, are cops in Texas HUGE!!) I was very surprised to see Mrs. P, the assistant principal who called the cops on Austin in the first place, and whose (so called) character reference didn't even make it into the judges hands. I saw her a dozen times today at the school and she did not mention she would be attending. The second surprise she gave me was when she stuck up for Austin in court, which I believe really helped his case! This time the judge was aware that Austin is disabled. I was encouraged to seek doctoring and medications, and Austin and I have to go to two 1 hour classes at the court house next month.
Can do!
What did Austin do to land in court? He refused to do his classwork and totally disrupted class. Then he hid in the time out room under a desk, and the cops had to lift it up to get him out. "Austin is very disrespectful to AUTHORITY!" said the cop.
"Austin is doing better in school, but when he has bad days, he completely shuts down," Mrs. P said.
Welcome to my world.
I'm going to Houston...
...today so na na na na na!!! We are going to The Dump to look at furniture. I can't wait. I also can't wait for my new PC to show up. It's a Dell! Woo who! This keyboard doesn't keep up with my slow ass typing. Jeez its bad!
I slept on the floor in the office/Bruce's room early this morning. Brandy woke up and I fell asleep with her on the floor. Blankets everywhere, lol! I think Bruce needs a bigger bed. He sleeps through the night in his crib, but Brandy was in it. He gets up out of the toddler bed and climbs in with us no matter how many times we move him back.
I really have nothing to say. Hmmm... 3 Italian ladies on vacation were thrown into a pit and then stoned. Two died. How awful is that? They knew one of the men! Sick, sick, sick! Know what else is sick? That creep who raped the boy he kidnapped 4 times a day for 4 days. I can't wait until he goes to prison. He is going to be someones BITCH!!!
I really hate people who make fun of "smart" people. You know the type. They ask a question, then the deride the person who answers the question, like, "Oh, aren't you so smart!" Assholes.
I hate stupid smart people. The kind who threw out dinosaur bones in Greek digs because they were irrelevant. The kind who swore that the Greeks had no idea what a dinosaur was, when they are surrounded by bones and even had them in their temples and drawings. Fucking retards!!!! Some lady had to prove it! The bone diggers and city diggers need to work together!!!
I hate it when kids stand behind me when I cook! And then come back repeatedly. FUCK! Know why? C stood behind me, and when I moved, he moved with me. Tessa will stand there like a brick wall and will not get out of my damn way! Of course she is 9 and I only figured this out this morning and I let every one in the house know about it. Maybe now she will move. Heaven knows she won't keep her butt out of the kitchen.
Ok, that's enough ranting for now.
New Theme: Awakening
I made this cool new theme with images purchased from Folkvangar. She is a wonderful digital artist, my bloggie friends! If you don't like it, remember that you can use the theme switcher on the right hand side to choose the theme you prefer.
I wanted something a little bit darker, and I put this piece together this morning. I have been tossing ideas around for a few weeks and have an awesome desktop image with the same girl, different background. I used brushes from 1 green eye** to get that specific look I've been craving!
For those of you not into grunge, I have a "clean" version I can put together. If you would like to see a neatobadeato header on the Awakening Theme, lemme know in the comments and I will make it.
After staring at it myself, I caved and went with the other version. It didn't turn out how I liked, lmao. All that wasted time... *sigh*
**I have been going to 1 green eye off and on for a very long time- she has fantastic psp brushes and backgrounds, but she didn't talk about herself much. So Ihad no idea until today that she is a witch, which I just happen to think is very, very cool. I have some catching up to do over at her blog!
Goodby
I really liked Anna Nicole. I felt bad when her son died, so close to giving birth to her daughter. I feel sad now that she is gone too. I new her as a guess girl and watched her TV show. I laughed at the fun, silly stuff she did.
She was only 39. I can't imagine only living for such a short time. She was a sweet, troubled girl, like many who have gone before her. So I say goodby.
May her next life be filled with peace.
An eventful day
Poor Brandy rolled off the bed! C brought her in to me while I was sleeping and I fed her, and fell back to sleep. She did not. She landed on the floor, cried for a second, and rolled over. I panicked at the drop of blood on her chin, just under her lip, but I was just a little rug burn/scrape. She's fine.
Bruce on the other hand, fell out of the stroller today at The Mall and landed on his head. That one hurt him! Poor guy cried and cried! He was trying to get out, and ended up getting out head first before we could catch him! He's fine now, too.
My poor abused children! I already have two r#tarded* kids, I don't need two more!
The Mall was fun, though. Bruce played in the kids center forever! It's a cute rubber forest with giant flowers and bees. He crawled over everything and would only leave with the promise of a ride in the elevator. Up up up! At the food court we chowed on Chinese food and Bruce rode the carousel twice with daddy. It was on our way out of there that he crashed to the floor. No big bumps on his noggin thankfully.
We went to Bath and Body Works and I bought Moonlight Path Body Cream. It is lavender, rose, violet, and musk and is yummy. I really like the cherry blossom, but C doesn't and I would rather not repel him, lol. I also purchased the body wash in a wee little size.
At Yankee Candle I got a short handled silver candle snuffer and a tea light holder shaped as a small blue flower. It is beautiful! I want to use it as an incense burner.
C got a new cell phone covers for himself and his mom. I can't tell you what hers looks like yet just in case she reads this blog before we get it to her. It is very unlikely she could find it again, but my luck, I would post it and she would see it! It's cute and she will love it.
Our departure was almost uneventful. Have you ever had an itch so bad you wanted to scratch your skin off? Ever have an itch so bad somewhere that you can't scratch in public? Yeah, I made a beeline for the bathroom. I really had to go, too. Then, I get home, and C points out by grabbing at it, that I have a hair poking out of my chest! He let me wander the mall like that. Oh, an yesterday, I locked myself out of my car at the gas station and he had to come bail me out with a coat hanger and a screwdriver. It's just been that kind ofday week.
For anyone who cares, C just beat Doom 3 on the XBox. I guess he is having a good day.
*If you don't like that I called my kids retarded, FOAD. I am not to be taken seriously. :p
Prunella Vulgaris
Selfheal/Allheal is an astringent, antiviral, anti microbial plant that treats cuts, scrapes, internal bleeding, herpes, high blood pressure, fevers, headaches, sore throats, you name it. It is a viral inhibitor, and is thought to block even HIV (a preventative measure.) Canada, Japan and California are researching its effects on HIV and AIDS. It can be taken orally or externally. The leaves can be eaten raw or cooked, or made into a cold water infusion and drank. (Don't mix with other blood thinners, ok?) The following links have much more info on this useful plant, and is where I got my information from. Don't just listen to me, do your own research and talk with your doctor before taking new supplements or weeds, k?
Texas Gov. Orders Anti-Cancer Vaccine
"AUSTIN, Texas - Some conservatives and parents' rights groups worry that requiring girls to get vaccinated against the sexually transmitted virus that causes cervical cancer would condone premarital sex and interfere with the way they raise their children.
By using an executive order that bypassed the Legislature, Republican Gov. Rick Perry - himself a conservative - on Friday avoided such opposition, making Texas the first state to mandate that schoolgirls get vaccinated against the virus.
Beginning in September 2008, girls entering the sixth grade will have to receive Gardasil, Merck & Co.'s new vaccine against strains of the human papillomavirus, or HPV.
Perry also directed state health authorities to make the vaccine available free to girls 9 to 18 who are uninsured or whose insurance does not cover vaccines. In addition, he ordered that Medicaid offer Gardasil to women ages 19 to 21.
Perry, a conservative Christian who opposes abortion and stem-cell research using embryonic cells, counts on the religious right for his political base. But he has said the cervical cancer vaccine is no different from the one that protects children against polio.
"The HPV vaccine provides us with an incredible opportunity to effectively target and prevent cervical cancer," he said."
Newsworthy, Blogworthy News!
Of all the news to blog about today, like the Boston retards who mistook an advertising gimmick for bombs scattered all over the city and shut down bridges and subways, arresting the evil doers, calling it a post 9/11 hoax- 10 other cities got the joke, however, including NY, or the other idiots who freaked out at a dolphin toy- a small glass jar with black and white stuff in it- which they thought was a bomb, I choose instead to fill you in on some real news worthy news:
So I have to go back to the in laws to pick up C's check, 'cause I forgot yesterday. Then I am going to town, getting me a coffee, and going to the bank, and I need to find Brandy a thick warm pair of tights. Other than that, nothing is going on around here!
Oh wait, yesterday we went to the movies and saw Night at the Museum with Ben Stiller. It is awesome!!! Go see the funniest movie! And it is totally kid appropriate. Brandy and Bruce stayed at Jan's/Nana's house. Bruce was great, Brandy cried when she couldn't find me, so like the entire time! Jan said it was ok though. heck, that little girl loves me so much, or is so spoiled, that she would cry every time I left her with C for the first 7 months!!!!! Thank the elements* she is over that!
Do you have "febulights"? Come on people, get it together and take them down already!
*I am an elemental witch- I don't call on deities (except in dire situations and out of sheer habit). I choose instead to work with the elements. In other witchy news, I finally started work on my wand. I need to pick up some sand paper; I cut my finger with the knife, but kept the blood off the wand! I also kept the bark shavings, just in case.
"Bloomsbury noted that this year is the 10th anniversary of the publication of the first "Harry Potter" book in the phenomenally successful series. The "Potter" books have sold 325 million copies worldwide and been translated into 64 languages, Bloomsbury said. The last book, "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," sold 2,009,574 copies in Britain on the first day of its release, Bloomsbury said.Ugh, blogger keeps sticking "p" tags into my blog- which totally screws up my look, since my "p" tags have special css attached to them. Why can't it just insert "br" tags like it is supposed to?
The Potter franchise is so important to the company's earnings that it announced the publication to the London Stock Exchange. Bloomsbury shares were up 2.2 percent to $4.40 after the announcement."
