What would you do if...

...UPS delivered packages addressed to your address, but not your name, and that you didn't order? And then did it again 2 more times in one week, all to the same name but wrong address? And if all the packages were from LTD?

Answer me honestly.

I've received misdelivered packages and sent them back.

Not that I'm perfect; just afraid I'd get caught somehow.

As someone who ships stuff out every day (usps, not ups though) and who every so often gets a claim from someone that they didn't receive it, (which obviously sends me into panic mode) I would tell the delivery person that the person it is addressed to doesn't live here. If I knew who the person was, like a neighbor, I would deliver it to them later.

This is a true story: Stan and I were living in our first apartment back in the 80s. We received a package to our address to some unknown name. We asked the neighbors upstairs and they thought it was probably a previous tennant. We looked up the name in the phone book, and found him. We tried to contact him, but we were unable to track the guy down. We really tried very hard to get his package to him, but he obviously left no forwarding address. There's only so much one can do, and I believe you should try to do whatever it is you can to get it to the right owner, BUT if you've tried that and you can't, then... HAPPY BIRTHDAY! the package contained a "Playboy Host and Bar" book. It is a pretty convenient and swanky book for making sophisticated mixed drinks, and it has come in handy (although mostly in our younger years!)

I agree with Granny and Ann. Do whatever you can to return it! Make sure that the delivery guys don't leave until you are sure it is yours. I had a package of mine delivered to the neigbors front door and it sat there for weeks until they found it. Lucky for me they brought it to me. But since I had already put a search out for it I just assumed it gone!

Send it back!

Oh great One said...

I'd call the delivery company and tell them they delivered someone elses stuff to you. I've had stuff I ordered not show up and I wish someone would have forwarded it.

Recently got flowers for the person who used to live here. Called the florist hoping they would just send a new bouquet but instead they came and picked it up from here for delivery. *sniff* they were lovely too!

Would contact UPS or USPS and tell them person does not live here anymore. Not that I wouldn't be tempted.
